Root Aokp .34 (ics)

AOKP released milestone 5 yesterday.

[ROM]AOKP Milestone 5 for Droid X [4/28] - Unofficial AOKP Ports - RootzWiki

This is getting very good for us. My buddy has a non rooted Nexus and I have a newer version of ICS on my crusty old X.

On yesterdays build I had a full charge at noon and made it until midnight with 39% left (stock battery from original release date). Pretty light usage but I didn't expect the battery to make it that far. Issues are well documented and I highly recommend giving this a shot.

What does not work:
  • Panorama mode in camera
  • Netflix
  • Google Chrome
  • Adobe Flash (Chrome/Flash and possibly Netflix are related to us not having hardware acceleration since we do not have native ICS drivers)
  • MMS - Use Go SMS
Installing new build now :bebored:

I'm using that on my touchpad and it is beautiful. The new CM9 has Netflix, MMS, and Chrome works (sorta). So these fixes are on the way. This new battery life thing is great. They are killing it up there at CM.

My battery life isn't that great, Have milestone 5 running fro 2 weeks so I'm assuming the caches have built. Stock, original battery (Almost 2 years old), no overclock/undervolt apps installed. Phone idle seems to be pulling the crap out of this rom, other then that, it's great.

I thought I read somewhere that this had longpress the back button to kill apps. I can't find it in the settings, am I missing something or is not in this rom?

HARD KEYS:
Settings... Rom Control... General UI... Hold back to kill (option near bottom, enable)

SOFT KEYS:
Settings... Rom Control... Navigation bar... (enable) define button longpress (or regular press for that matter) action

;)
