Root aol mail not syncing?

I have had trouble all day with my aol mail not syncing. I can syc manually and it syncs but there is a message at the top in yellow saying "connection error". It does the same on any rom. I went back to my "stock" file I saved when I rooted and it will not sync beyond the 21st. I have tried unrooting and restarting but all to no avail. I am about at my wits end. Any suggestions?

Not that anybody seemed to care but I found the culprit in case anyone else runs into a similar problem. Quick Clock Advanced was keeping my email from syncing. I guess it was not ramping up fast enough or the sync between the mail and the app does not work on my phone.

I am having the same problem. Deleting and adding account has worked temporarily a couple of times (I have done this 10-15 times over the past 4 days with mixed results), but then the problems resurfaced. Sometimes the "Account Error" appears and other times it does not.
It only has the apps that came installed with the phone (because I've had problems with the last two crappy Droids I had and didn't want to risk having to pay out-of-pocket for yet another crappy device), so not sure what to try to fix this. Any ideas would be appreciated since I've only had this thing for 2 months and without email I have no use for it. Thanks.
