AOSP debugging through eclipse

I am trying to debug AOSP through eclipse(under Linux)..But while building it is throwing errors like:

R cannot resolved to a variable
The import android.util.MathUtils cannot be resolved
The import com.android.common cannot be resolved

Note:When I tried to debug sample app its working fine and not showing any errors.

Any help!!!

hi, can you clarify - is this an app that you have written/are writing and you are trying to debug? Are you debugging with the AVD?

I'm not developing any app. I want to debug the pre-installed apps (contacts,gallery,etc.,) through eclipse. The android code is building successfully through command-line. But I am unable to debug the same code through eclipse
