EDIT: Nevermind, don't try. Brick brick brick brick brick. This WILL brick your phone. I'm just leaving the information up for possible discussion.
So I came across and XDA thread a while back about LG G2 users editing a line in their build.prop to deactivate LG's lockscreen and turn it back into the AOSP KitKat lockscreen. Now, when they first did this the G2 was on Jelly Bean. Once they updated to KitKat, they found that the line was no longer in their build.prop. I've looked at our own build.prop; we don't have it either.
Now, there is a modification that most Android users can use to turn on the navigation bar (the on-screen home, back, and menu/multitask buttons) for those that don't already have it enabled. This involves ADDING a line to the build.prop, a line that was not originally in there.
So, going along with this, I'm thinking it might be possible for us to add the line that's missing in the build.prop of KitKat LG roms that allows us to disable LG's lockscreen and use the AOSP KitKat lockscreen. I've not tried it myself, because I don't want to brick anything, but I'm wondering if anyone here is savvy enough to know if this would work, or if there isn't much risk of bricking in trying.
