Apex keeps forgetting shortcuts

This just started yesterday, and I'm not sure when the most recent update was released.

Apex can't seem to remember desktop shortcuts for apps installed to the SD card. My laptop doesn't think there's anything wrong with the SD card itself, and I can access said apps via App Drawer. When I do, they work fine, and data stored on the card is also fine.

What's going on, and is there a way to fix it? My phone was back the way I like it when I went to bed, but I got up to lots of empty spaces on my home screens, which is getting a bit old.

Update: DH's phone suddenly developed this issue as well, and he's not using Apex. Or the same ROM.* :hmmmm:

I decided to try the "lock desktop" setting. We shall see.

* He's using CM7 and SmartLauncher, also on a Motorola Triumph.
