Apex Live Wallpaper on Lockscreen

I have a Sprint/Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3, using Apex launcher

I've found some threads where you can set the lockscreen to a live wallpaper, while having regular wallpaper on homescreen:

1. Switch to Touchwiz, set a live wallpaper for both homescreen & lockscreen
2. Switch back to Apex, then set regular wallpaper for homescreen. The live wallpaper on the lockscreen should stick

People seemed to be happy with this on the older threads I found, but I think the trick no longer works on 4.3. Anybody have any other ideas?

I don't know whether it is by Apex design or defect, but I have never been successful in setting LWP on the lock screen unless I used the same wallpaper on my home screens.
