Apk and Confidentiality

Hello, I am having difficulty logging into an app - let's call it SP - and it seems that my antivirus (Bitdefender) is interfering with SP's functioning. The Bitdefender support team wants me to download Apk Extractor and send them the Apk from SP to further troubleshoot.

If I have confidential information in my SP account, is sending them the Apk secure?

Thanks,
Ryan

Odd that they request the APK. Wouldn't they already have that? It would make more sense to request the Logcat output.

Aggh, sorry I misread this. The BITDEFENDER team want the APK for the 'SP' app. Yes I guess that's a reasonable thing to request, but could they not download the app from wherever you obtained it?
If not, then sending your APK will not compromise your local data, as @Hadron stated, any associated app data isn't contained within the APK.

I considered proposing an alternative way of getting a copy, but thought that maybe just to be sure they get the version that's installed it would be better to extract it (in case that apk was modified or infected in any way - which doesn't sound like the problem here, but just to be sure).
