APK File Association

I've searched but been unable to find a solution for this issue.

I noticed recently that APK files on my android were opening with RockPlayer, rather than the OS installer. I uninstalled RockPlayer hoping it would go back to default, but now the files don't open at all.

I should include that I'm using the Galaxy Nexus with ICS. Also, this may be related to the recent "Google Play" upgrade. Anyone have any advice?

This is weird. You might want to try downloading then opening the APK from Android Market (Google Play) again to see if you can open there.

I was able to download a file browser app, navigate to the file, and launch it that way. Strange, but it works.
