aplication icons re-arranged automatically

whenever i switch off or connect my phone to a pc the icons get re-arranged automatically. and i have to re-arrange them to my preference each time. am i facing a weird problem or is it common. if its common is there a solution for it. pls help.
 
simple problems like this can be answered easily if androidforums categorize problems like: modified galaxy y - related or unmodified galaxy y related. :)

or

OP should contain those prefixes.. ;)

EDIT:

launcers and apps can also change settings.. hard to think about solutions when OP is not detailed..

It is common problem and even I am facing this whenever I switch the phone off. Solution to this is to use custom launcher like Go Launcher EX, Launcher Pro etc.,
