Help APN settings wont save.

Hello ,
Ive been a silent reader here on phandroid since i got my android phone ( SGS) . which is about 5 months ago .No.1 news source for android :D .
I never visited the forum section though , dont know why :P . so here i am . hi everyone :) .

Anyway , I have this issue , whenever i try adding new APNs , they wont save . i go menu > save but it just takes me back to an empty APN list. I never had internet connection ( 3g ) on my phone since my carrier didnt offer any . However , the phone does read my sim card and i use it normally ( voice/ text ) .
How can i fix this :( ? i need to add APNs since my carrier just got HSDPA .

I think it will not be possible because your carrier does'nt provide the service an since your withe them you cant acces other providers.

Even if you can, the 3g prices wil rip your pockets empy if you do it like that
 
My carrier has HSDPA connection now , and id like to connect to that . I need to edit the APN manually and whenever i do that it does not save .

However I found this APN manager app . it seems to do the job fine , i can see all the APNs ive added before which couldnt show in the APN list inside the settings . It also lets me choose what APN i want ..
Would that app be enough ?
i still didnt activate my connection i was just scared of APN configs not saving nor showing in my list . again , now that this app seems to work fine , , would it be enough ?
Sorry if i was not clear , english isnt my 1st language .
