Help Apostrophe symbol HTML code in MIUI

Been running MIUI for a few weeks and totally love it. The one thing I can't figure out is why in apps like Gmail and Tweetcaster, apostrophes are displayed as the HTML code (see below) rather than the symbol itself.

I've looked at all the settings, changed compatibility mode, etc. but nothing resolves it. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, using the iPhone4G 6.0 theme.

As a test, I switched back to the default theme, cleared cache and data for the apps and the problem is still there.

Usually the problem crops up after applying themes and it takes a couple of reboots for the issue to clear... but that's not to say it may be a glitch in the rom version you are running. I'm running the version from sept 7th and don't have the problem. I'd recommend flashing the rom again and see if it happens before applying any themes.
