If you have an external SD card installed, you can use a file manager to back up the app. It won't back up the saved data, but it will shortcut having to download them all again.
I use ES File Explorer (ESFE), but I think Astro does it also and they are both free. ESFE start it and go to settings within the file explorer. Under Directory Settings gorup there is an entry for "Apps Backup Directory" that you should change to point to the external card you placed in the slot. eg. /sdcard/external_sd/Backup/App
Then exit out of ESFE settings and in any file list hit menu, Manager, then tap "App Manager" on the popup. Here is the tricky bit, by default when you tap the app name in the list presented it will just show you the details of that app. What you need to do is hit the mutli-select button on the tool bar (second from left). If the tool bar is not visible hit the little blue/grey button on the top right of the app, then hit multi-select.
Once mutli select is on, when you tap the app names in the screen list, they turn light green meaning selected. Select them all and then hit menu, backup. All the non-copy protected apps will be copied wth their version number to the SD.
On the next backup the app list will be in dark green if already backed up, and red if it's changed since last time and needs backing up again.
