App Cache Cleaner Not Auto Updating Cache

Hiya

Just installed this app on my S3

It works fine apart from the Widget. For it to update the Cache, I need to go into the actual app and then the widget displays correctly

Is there a setting or is it a quirk of the widget?

Cheers

Paul

Welcome paulwilko!
I moved your thread here as it is not device specific but app related.

I don't use that application, so I do not know, but have you tried to remove, then reinstall?

And I am not sure what you mean by update the Cache?
What, about the widget, that doesn't display properly?

Hiya
Its a brand new widget, so I don't think a reinstall will make any difference.

I was reading someone else's thread about a sluggish S3 and the app was recommended.
My S3 often gets sluggish so thought I would give it a go.

It works well apart form the widget cache. Apparently when the cache gets too heavy, the widget turns red meaning its time to clean it. THere is a figure which shows the amount of cache being used but that figure never moves no matter how many apps are being used until i goto the app itself then it rescans.
Hope that makes sense :-)

Welcome jp3!!

Have you install any new apps lately? Try rebooting the phone or shutting it down for 5 minutes then restart.

thanks mikestony... none that i can think of, i rebooted and removed battery but not for 5 minutes i will try..

isn`t there a way to clean up files temps etc.. i am obviously not deep i n knowledge here..

There are several cache cleaners on the market....can't recommend one over the other as I am rooted and use Cache Cleaner NG (for rooted users):)

rebooted and removed battery for over 5 minutes.. no improvement..
did the developers ...and dropped animation to 0.5% ...little if any improvement... turned off power save ...a little improved..

the majority of sluggishness seems to be in the email scrolling, deleting etc...
mind you i have 8 email adrresses some gmail, a hotmail, and some from my cable provider with all on push..and thousands of emails...
is there a cleaner built in??

yea i figured that.. just playin
