Hello,

I am just getting starting developing my first app. I've gone through various tutorials and am ready to develop my own application.

I'm just looking for some suggestions on how I should go about doing the following.

I would like to have an application that is connecting to an online database so that other users are able to see any changes that have been made.

My main concern is that I am unsure how to go about doing the database storage. Should I buy a sql server storage from somewhere online (any suggestions)? Or would I be better off developing a "web app" rather than a native app. Is is possible to develop a native app that connects to an online database? Are there any tutorials out there that can teach me how to do so.

I have read tutorials as well and from my understanding, the SQL Lite file that is created in android can be read in any SQL database. So I would probably buy a Virtual Machine, install SQL on there and there is your remote database. The cloud computing is getting cheaper and cheaper.
