App Disappeared? (Zooper Widget)

Really good run. I hope the developers have another widget app up their sleeves.

Basically their stuff worked on any home screen customization alternatives.

Is it gone from devices of people who bought the Pro version? I realize that if they have factory reset they can't get it back from the Play Store but what if they never had to?

Interesting explanation for why Zooper development ceased.

I switched to KWGT a couple of years ago. It's got very similar capabilities to Zooper, and is probably slightly easier to use. It's got its quirks, like any of these tools, but overall it works well enough that I uninstalled Zooper more than a year ago.

(I should add that I've never used Kustom Live Wallpaper, which a lot of serious themers do. I've never really been into live wallpapers anyway, and don't put that much effort into theming, so can't comment on how well that works).

Its probably because I used Zooper for a long while that made the transition quite easy to KWGT. I love that the elements can be group neatly which makes full homescreen widget a breeze to make and edit compared to Zooper and Its quite powerful and flexible on the things that it can do and the editor never crashed once on me even while editing a pretty heavy widget. The only problem I had with KWGT is pinpointing my location for weather but that was address few updates ago.

Think of it as a more powerful and updated version of Zooper but not quite as powerful as KLWP.

KWGT is looking better and better the more I see all the threads about it on XDA and G+ :D

So they just left the store? They could have given it for free before to do that.

I was collecting some packs gone free, now I can remove them from the collection.

I have KWGT and it is really good, luckily I have got the license for free for a recent promotion (thanks again to the developer for the gift) but I must say I have not seen, until now, a pack for KWGT similar to some packs I was collecting for zooper, some of them looked really amazing. And some developers, developing for both apps had in their collection better packs only for zooper. At least it is wat seemed to me, maybe I am wrong

If you know what you want to create and have a bit of time you can always use KWGT to make whatever you fancy.

Do those packs you've downloaded work with the free version of Zooper? You can still find that on apkmirror.com (one of the few download sites that I actually trust).

Yes you are right, use our creativity it is the best solution, I edit them as I like but it is nice to start from an ispirational set(often they also come with related graphic elements from devs).

No you can't use sets in free editions, both for Zooper or KWGT

The app hasn't changed at all, so I doubt it's anything to do with security policies. And the stuff it does with network connections is the same stuff that many other clock and weather widgets do.

I started playing with computers on a TRS-80 way back in the early 80s, hence the screen name. I have seen this happen soooooo many times...

This is one of the main reasons that, over a course of years (decades, actually) I have become convinced of the arguments / philosophy underlying Free* Software. Maybe some of you will not be so thick as I was, and come to understand them more quickly than I did.

*think Freedom (Libre), not Price

What about on Android? F-Droid is an alternative market to Google Play that contains ONLY Free/Libre and Open Source Software (F/LOSS).

It's always the first place I look for anything. Well in fact I no longer have any Google Play Services installed whatsoever, but that's a whole another subject... Strictly AOSP / LineageOS for me and I love it and wouldn't have it any other way! :)

Yep, just saw it on the play store. No update though so my guess is that people reached out to the devs to just keep the app in the store since nothing is wront with it. You can access the pro in your account history but if you're like me then its long been buried in the sea of purchased apps

Glad it is back.

Yeah literally minutes after I post I see a news article stating it's back up.

Well, it has happened before, and it will happen again. Even though those affected may have dodged a bullet "this time" I still stand by my assertions (outlined above). ;)
