app for android back up

[MekkA]

hey guys. looking to find a system software back up to use prior to trying to root my galaxy s2. Ive lookrd through the market and have only found sms and contact list back up aps.

does anyone have a source for what i lookin for? the irony is that the apps providing full software back up are only offered for already rooted phones. I just dont want to risk that.

Correct, you can only really perform a full system backup if you are rooted.... "MyBackup Pro" however can backup most other things.

Both My Backup Pro and Titanium can do rooted phones to include full data (such as game scores, etc.). My Backup Pro also does a great job on non-rooted phones. I like it and use it.

Much appreciated for your input, as per rooting, is there a fail safe way to back up your phone so as not to void warranties/ damage the software precariously prior to going the root route?

You need to visit your device's forum to answer that, as these things are different for different phones.

It's not usually a matter of backing up before rooting - you need root to do full system backups, so that's Catch-22 there. But in most cases there are ways of unrooting & returning to stock (official, unmodified) firmware.
