app for do not disturb

The native do not disturb does not do I what I need. I want all phone calls to go through, but no texts, emails etc. Any suggestions for an app?

Could you check a couple of things for me? First is your call volume set to a level that you can here when in DND mode? Second, is your call priority set to everyone or just contacts? Do you have any other muting apps running? I think if you have your phone face down, it will mute calls.

Turning off the internet connection would kill everything except calls and texts.

The Do Not Disturb setting in the Pixel allow you to set a preference for what "priority only" means: which calls (all in your case), which messages (none), and to turn off reminders and events. Go into DND preferences then tap "priority only allows" to see the options.

Thank you for trying to help. I have the settings as you suggested. The phone does go off but there's no sound. I do have a ringtone as loud as it's supposed to go. I have it set for all calls to go through. Any suggestions?

Check what ringtone you have set as well as the volume? It's all I can think of.

I just put mine into priority only DND and it rang normally (mine is "contacts only", but that shouldn't make a difference).

I have mine set just like yours. I even changed my ringtone to see if that mattered. The phone goes off but no sound comes out. Thanks for trying to help. Any other suggestions?

When I click the icon to put Priority only, I noticed that the volume automatically goes down to zero and I cannot override it. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know. I've not spotted any setting for this, but mine doesn't do that (regular Pixel 2, May security patch).

Ironically I've always toggled the ringer mode (silent/vibrate/ring) rather than use DND because I generally only care about the sound and want that either on or off (so not quite what DND does). Hence I've not dug deep into DND as I don't really use it.

Just as an experiment I switched to a guest account, which Will be on default settings, activated DND and then tried to set the volume. The volume control worked fine. Maybe if you do that test you'll be able to confirm whether your phone works the same by default or not (i.e. whether it's worth trying to locate some setting that will change this)?

When I click the icon to put Priority only, I noticed that the volume automatically goes down to zero and I cannot override it.
That's why I was wondering if you had some other app that was muting the phone in DND mode. Try booting into safe mode to see if disabling all the other apps makes a difference. (Does DND work in safe mode? Never tried it. :o )

Ah, you are running the Android P beta - you didn't mention that! Different behaviour could be deliberate or could be a bug. Since you are in the beta programme I suggest giving feedback to Google on this either way.

The box you mention doesn't exist in 8.1.
