APP for Programs Running in the Background

Hello - I am having to charge my Gravity SMART a couple of times a day and was wondering if there is an APP that I can get (like I have on my IPAD2), to delete applications running in the background.

Also wondering how to actually delete an APP that came with the phone.

The apps for killing apps are called task killers and they are not recommended for android phones as the system manages the apps to idle itself; task killers are said to drain your battery more (apps aren't actually running in the background; they are idle)

You delete apps via manage applications but most of the apps that come with the phones are built in so can't be removed.


Autosynch is a battery killer as is your screen brightness etc. If you go to the forum for your specific phone they probably have a whole thread of tips on how to optimise your battery.
