App for Shortcuts

So my screen cracked on my unrooted Galaxy Nexus (4.1.1) and had to get a replacement and now I have lost all the shortcuts that I originally made with Any Cut. And now it seems that Any Cut doesn't work anymore with my Nexus. What are some other good apps to create shortcuts like addresses for GPS, contact phone numbers (something that will pull up someone's cell number instead of all their contact info), etc.?

Long pressing on the home screen does work for me, but I use Nova, and I don't rememberbiff that's a feature of the launcher or not (and I suspect that it is as I recall having the same problem when I first got my GNex around a year ago).

I looked around and didn't find anycut either, but I did find Smart Shortcuts (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.shortcuts). Do post back here if it works.

It looks like the long press only works when using a launcher. This might be stupid question, but what are the benefits of using a 3rd party launcher?

Long press for shortcuts, of course! :D

Seriously though, they typically have better performance over stock (at least historically), and added features like gesture support, themes, and the like.
