[App help] "Android Shopper No Longer Supported"

Today I started repeatedly getting the Pop-Up message "Shopper Discontinued: Unfortunately, the Google Shopper app is no longer supported. Press OK to continue shopping with Google at google.com/shopping." How to I clear that message? Can I uninstall the goggle shopper app? If so, how?

perhaps more eyes in the app section can help out, so lets discuss here since this app is not unique to just one handset.

on the surface, uninstall any updates you may have installed.

In the UK - Have just come across this about the Shopper App no longer supported. I found it very useful.
Any good substitutes?

Subsequently came across Google Goggles - seems to work as well as Shopper.
