[App help/suggestion] 3rd party email app causing overheating issues

smitty543

Periodically my HTC EVO LTE becomes "Hot to Touch" and the battery reserve goes down precipitously. I check battery stats with GSam Battery Monitor, and see that my 3rd party Email App is hogging battery usage each time. If I reboot the phone, it cools within minutes. Is uninstalling the app the only correction/cure for this problem? (I sent the developers of the app a message about the problem, but no reply thus far.) Any suggestion(s) for another Email app that can handle attachments and apk's as well as basic messages?

Thanks.

hi,

since it seems you have determined the issue to be caused by as user installed app, i have moved your question here to get more eyes and hopefully offer some options.

i use the htc stock messaging app as it does what i need, has a clean interface, hooks into sense nicely, and no need to waste storage space on another program.
