App icons not displaying

I just activated an LG Optimus V. I've downloaded a number of apps, and several of them aren't displaying, either on the Home screens or under Applications. I can find them if I go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, so I can confirm they've been installed. Two of the culprits are The Weather Channel and Google Maps.

I tried a Samsung Intercept a couple of months ago and returned it, but I didn't have this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?

That happened to me today when I downloaded an app from the Amazon App Store. I can still open it, just not from an icon which is inconvenient. :/

I presume you’ve tried, but you haven’t said, longpress on a desktop free spot to load an icon. But if that doesn’t work, having it still appear in settings makes it a true mystery. Also, have you tried unistall/reinstall?

Try reinstalling them.
