Help App install problem

So i have 2 transforms on my account, mine and my wifes. My wifes phone has never had anything done to it, completely stock with the OTA Froyo update. My phone however i rooted and put vamps 2.7 kernel on with the unofficialy froyo, before the OTA was released, then before the OTA i flashed everything back to stock and got the official OTA froyo update.

after that i put custom recovery on it, put vamps OC 2.0.8 kernel, and JIT on it, didn't like the OC, so flashed vamps normal 2.0.8 kernel over top.

my phone will not install some apps off of the market, like any of the angry birds, my wifes phone however installs them just fine.

Any ideas on what could cause that and what i could do (preferably without losing my installed apps) to try and fix this?

Thanks!

just to add, when trying to install stuff i'm getting an error "installation error unknown reason -18"

i just flashed vamps new 2.0.8.1 kernel and still not working :(

Ha! I had that exact error and can't even restore my backup of those apps from Titanium Backup! Just deete your .android_secure folder on your SD card.

i did some googling on the problem and found that you can delete a specific file in that folder that supposedly fixes the problem. I tried that and could not get it to work. I was however able to do a trick i found where you can unmount the SD card, then download/install the app off the market and it will install fine, which mine did. Then just remount the SD card and you are all set. I'm also having the problem listed in another thread here where i can't get apps to move to SD either. Haven't tried to move apps to SD on my wifes phone so not sure if thats working for hers or not.

how did you get it to install cause for me it says that i need to have an sd card mounted inorder to install it....

If you do not have enough space on the device, it will tell you that you need to mount the SD card. Make sure your device has enough room for the app you are trying to install...I know that Angry Birds needs almost 20MB (!).

Also, after you have installed the app and re-mounted your SD card, you can then move the app to the SD Card.
