App killer whitelist app?

Fishyweb

Anyone know of an app that will stop specified apps from being killed by the OS's resource management?

I use Light Flow Lite which now displays a notification icon when it runs in the foreground. I'd rather not have that icon, and the app includes a setting to run in the background without the icon, but the app is then prone to being killed. I want my cake and eat it, with the app running in the background without being killed.

This is on Jellybean by the way.

If your phone is rooted, you could use XPOSED APP FRAMEWORK

It's not available on Google Play, you'll have to sideload it.

1. Install XPOSED INSTALLER
2. Start the installer and press Install / Update, and reboot.
3. Install the module XPOSED APP SETTINGS
4. Open the installer, click the Modules tab and activate the XPOSED APP SETTINGS module
5. Reboot

Now the framework will use the XPOSED APP SETTINGS.

So open up XPOSED APP SETTINGS and scroll down to your app. Enable the slider switch on the top row, and set the RESIDENT checkbox. Then click the little floppy disk icon to save the settings.

Your app will no longer be purged from RAM by Android task management.

This means you can now disable the app's notification, either in it's own settings or in System Settings, App manager.

Good luck.

PS: this method works on ALL ROMs, even stock. Only requirement is root access.
