Help App memory storage

Hi All,
I just got my Ace about 2 weeks ago I'm a newby to Samsung phones. My problem is that phone memory is full even though I got a 16gb memory card for my phone, I have tried to save the apps to the sd card but it won't let me I've also looked through the settings to find a way but can't please help! thanks!

You can only move selected apps to the sd card, so the rest remain installed on your internal memory, and since this phone has a very low internal memory, it limits the number of apps you can install regardless of what sd card you have.

All you can do is to clear cache and dump the log files using code *#9900#, select move dump files to sd. This will free up some memory but not much.

But if you really want much better ways, you will have to root your phone for them.

Thanks for the reply, I've never done anything like this to a phone before so I'm sorry if my questions seem a bit simple, how do I root the phone?

So you want to root your phone, keep in mind that rooting the phone will void your warranty, if anything goes wrong the service center people will not fix it for free.
Rooting gives you administrator access to the android system, a superuser access basically. You should google about rooting, its advantages and disadvantages before making this decision. After that i would be glad to help you with the process.
I just want to make sure that you know what you are doing. And reading is the most important part of that.

I have found a great way to move apps to an SD card freeing up space without rooting the phone.
Just follow this tutorial here: acetips.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/how-to-force-install-apps-to-sd-card-without-root/

I didn't realise that rooting was such a big deal Ayush29k thanks for the heads up, I might just check out the tutorial Mfaz suggest, thanks mfaz. I do have an old blackberry that I wouldn't mind trying to root just to give it go but I'll have a read first, thanks again lads!

That tutorial is for windows and I have a mac, the thing about rooting my phone is that it's only a month old and I don't want to have any issues with the warranty just yet is case something does go wrong.

Check the All things root subforum, there is thread for universal root by StonBoyTony, use that to root. I have already sent you a guide to set up link2sd on your phone. You will also need to install ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 on your phone, its an essential for all root users.
Make a backup of your phone through ClockWorkMod recovery before going with Link2sd, just in it gets stucks in bootloop you can restore it.
