Ok so on my messaging app there is a little orange circle with a 1 in it i have opened all my messages and it wont go a way why is this
 
Hello and welcome to the forum. I see your having app issues. Well if the number one still shows you need to open all the messages . Its one that havent been open yet .
 
Could depend on the app you are using. What app and what launcher are you using? Typically for example Go SMS shows an icon with a counter like you said despite having no unread messages if you are using stock Samsung launchers.
