App (or Google Maps instructions) for marking a route in My Maps

Been searching for the life of me for an app (or some way in Google Maps) to go to a spot on the map and draw a line down the street along a certain route and store the run to My Maps. Am I missing something?

K so I think I found it in Google Maps but I haven't been able to figure out how to on my Nexus One.

I think the google app "my tracks" does this. its on the market.
