app or way to lock the homescreen so my icons aren't deleted?

is there any way to save or lock my home-screens.

i have a Samsung galaxy s, using the default home launcher, as i prefer it. But once thing I've noticed is, that because it doesn't not lock the home-screen i can sometimes quite easily delete a few icons without realizing it. or even whole pages.

is there an app that can save my home-screen arrangement automatically and bring it back or an app that can lock it so i can't accidentally delete it.

P.S. i know some of the other home launchers have this feature built it, but if possible would rather keep the default home launcher.

Check you settings for something like "System persistent" and check it. If not is there a "back-up"? I use GO, and you can back-up GO settings, which remembers everything if something messes up. Icon locations should stay where they're at, but sometimes the icon picture might change.
