App Request: Call Screen Lock

nice work apps buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut this was your chance to be creative and not make another thing just liiike the iPhone. why did you copy their uggo slider?? throw Little Green Droid guy there. do SOMETHING different than the immortal iPhone. i like the app though, just innovate from what we have already seen!

There are more value adds:

  • Transparent background if you like to see your widgets during lock
  • Contact card and an In case of emergency contact. Can also place an avatar of yourself on the lockscreen
May not be super original but it works :)
Thanks for checking it out though

Released a 2-day trial version of the Screen Suite app. Just search for Screen Suite and should pop up with trial and full versions

I have 2 Droids and my grandson had that problem because of the way he was holding it.
The proximity sensor is located at the upper left corner of the phone as you look at it.
This corner must be very close to skin (not hair) for it to work properly.
He was holding it with the top right corner angled toward his head forcing the top left corner to be far enough away from skin to creat the problem.
He's been retrained and has had no further problems for the last month.

Screen Suite looks like a nice app. I'll try this on my wife's phone and hopefully it will help with her problem of muting and face dialing during calls.

I currently use Contact Owner on our Droids, but this appears better. The lock screen remains available longer, my picture is on the lock screen in case an honest citizen finds the phone and it has the ability to dial the contact number or ICE number from the lock screen.

I also appreciate the two day trial version!

I was having this problem too and today I found a free app called "My Lock Phone Tools." I just tested it and it worked great. I have long hair and short bangs and this was, apparently, creating a huge problem for me since my phone was hanging up on 90% of the people I talked to. When you download it, go into the app and check off the touchscreen lock option. Then when you are on a call if you pull the phone away from your face it tells you to either hit the camera or top lock button in order to access the touch screen. Well worth it!! Thank you so much to whoever created this app!!!!!:)

Yes, I have replaced ScreenSuite with this app (I didn't want nor need the "value adds" in ScreenSuite, just wanted the lock while on the phone).

Hello everyone (First Post)

I was having this issue too and after a little bit of troubleshotting i realized that it was the way we're holding our phones. (Kind of)

In my case this happens when i call and intermediately put the phone to my ear. I just realized that the proximity sensor is only activated after the call is active. This means that you must place your call and wait for the counter to appear on the screen THEN put the phone to your ear.

I still find this kind of anoying, i tought that a phone that its pretty much a computer would be able to call faster than that, but it solves my problem.

I love my Moment!!!

Please post your opinions.

the screen suite application, it locks the screen completely while you calling or receiving calls, issue fixed PERIOD.

you can download from the android market is the way to go, i downloaded the two day trial and tested it. It totaly works, even has a few additional extra features that are nicely thought out and polished, such as displaying your contact detail on the phone so if you lose it they know where to contact you.

im not one who likes paying for software, but this was worth the $1.99 I installed it on both my wife's Samsung Moment and then put it on mine as well, she noticed the issue first as she uses her phone more than me, but im sure it would annoy the heck out of me if it cuts me of in mid call, so mine was a preemptive strike so i DONT ever have this issue.

I love they way you can total redesign the phone with a few well chosen application, and i haven't even had the need to root the phone and invalidate my warranty

THANK YOU RENZISE!!! I just downloaded the "MyLock Phone Tools", and it's exactly what I've been looking for. I'll explain: it's not your proxy sensor that is messed up, and it's not your hair getting in the way. Here's how you can test it for yourself: make a phone call (I use my voicemail so as not to bother other people). Lay the phone flat on the table and place your hand over the top left corner of the phone. Nothing should happen. Now place the phone on its edge in the same manner that it would be if it was next to your ear. Now put your hand back over the proxy sensor. The screen should black out. (It doesn't detect skin, I used a post-it note and it worked fine) Now the problem that people are having is that they may be lying down or even using their shoulder to hold the phone. This places the phone in the horizontal position and the tilt sensor overrides the proxy sensor (come on Motorola, why? fix this!). Then the skin on the cheek presses up against the glass and whamo, hangs up on you. I've done this a thousand times. Now with the app "MyLock Phone Tools" will allow you to set up your phone so that after you go into a call and the screen blacks out, once you pull the phone away from your face, you MUST press the camera button in order for it to release the screen lock. The background will show, but with a green tint to it and a little note at the bottom telling you how to unlock it. Even if you unlock it to say, touch tone menu when calling a customer service number, the app will re-lock the screen once you put it back up to your ear. NO MORE CHEEK DIALING!!!
