Help App screen orientation

[Thunderbird15]

I currently have 5.1.1 and this morning did a few app updates and suddenly when I go into the app screen, the orientation is now vertical scrolling instead of horizontal, same applies to the widget screen and there is also an app search bar. Does anyone know what caused this?

Have you updated your launcher? The app and widget drawers are provided by the launcher as well as the homescreens, so a launcher update could change their appearance or behaviour.

I have not, not sure how to honestly. I saw where someone mentioned the Google update caused it

Hey the latest Google Now Launcher update has the vertical scrolling, same as Android M. It a new update. Don't worry.

Android originally used continuous vertical scrolling, so it's really a reversion.

I always stuck with continuous vertical scrolling myself because I find it more efficient.
