Help App stop working???!!!

I just get a message while I am trying to open Google Play in my phone...
I was downloading Firefox Mozilla and get the message similar to:

Google play has stopped unexpectedly and has been shut down.

I'd try settings, applications, manage applications and clear data and cache for google play and then see if its sorted the problem.

No, but doing this will delete my Google Account?

The message says:
All of this application's data will be deleted, including all files, settings, accounts, databases, etc.

It will only delete your google account from the play store app, you can simply re-enter your username and password when it works again.

Thanks:)
OK but which files exactly and databases that will be deleted?
Does it mean the files and apps that I have downloaded and installed from Google Play?

Right now I have installed Opera Mobile, Yahoo Messenger, Firefox and some widgets.
So after I clear data and cache will these Apps be deleted/Uninstalled from the phone?

You shouldn't even have to log in again on google play as clearing data for the app won't remove your account from your phone. So your phone will still be logged in so therefore google play will be. The only things you will loose are your search history and your password for age restrictions if you set one up etc.

Sorry I didn't notice your post as we were writing them at the same time and your post ninja'd mine.
You don't have to worry about any of your apps, they are all safe. All clearing data for google play will do is reset google play settings to default (you will probably have to accept terms and conditions again) but everything else will be as you left it.
