app that checks your hardware?

I am running android 4.2.1 jellybean.Is there a way to know that the parts in your phone are the same that your phone company claims them to be? That is, if the company says they have put 1 GB RAM IN my phone and I can actually see it in my app that scans my hardware so as to check the authenticity of their claim?
