App that tracks hours

Lurker
Hey all, I'm new to this forum but have been an Android user since December 2011. Anyways I'm an Electrician who works at a small company, at the end of the week (Friday) all employees are supposed to drop off time sheets at the shop. The sheets track days Mon to Fri with what job sites we worked at and how many hrs at each. Well sometimes we don't have enough time at the end of Friday to drop them off and we drop them off Monday morning which really pisses our secretary off

So my question is, is there any app out there where we can punch in our hrs at different job sites at the end of each day? And the info we enter is immediately synced with the main office computer for our secretary to see??

ex. Monday 2 hrs at job #778
6 hrs at job #567

I hope I'm making sense here, we've talked about this at company meetings and we think something like this would make things easier. Besides we use our phones for everything else anyways ;P

Thanks much appreciated!!

I use Time Recording Pro to track my time on job sites. It can sync the time entries to a Google Calendar of your choice (that you have configured on your Android device, and that you have write access to). I'm picturing it working something like this:

  1. On a desktop logged in with your Google account, create a new calendar named "mchose hours".
  2. Go to the settings for the new calendar and get the public address of your calendar, and give that to the secretary
  3. On her desktop, add that calendar to hers (she'll see it, but won't be able to modify it)
  4. On your Android device, setup that calendar to sync (I don't think it needs to be visible)
  5. Setup Time Recording Pro to sync your time entries to that calendar

I haven't tried any of the above, but I know the features exist, and I think it would do what you want. You might want to check with the author of the app before making any mass purchase of the app though.

For something much simpler, you could just use Time Recording Pro without any sync setup, and just email the secretary an summary from the app at the end of the week, or on a daily basis.
