App to block calls by caller-id NAME

makaiguy

Newbie
My wife is getting plagued by several calls a day from caller(s) identified as LAC_1150. Each call identifies itself with a different phone number with area codes all over the US, making it futile to try to block by phone number. Is there a reliable blocker app not laced with malware or snoopware that can block calls according to caller id NAME?

(Verizon Galaxy S3, not rooted)

Calls Blacklist Pro from the play store is what I use, never a problem and you can set names in it also
Finally getting back to this. Thanks for the suggestion. Couldn't find the pro version, so I assume this is an upgrade purchased from within the program?

Pro came right up in the search this time. Go figure.

Neither version says anything about blocking by name. How do you do it.. just enter name to be blocked in the blacklist?

BTW, in case somebody finds this thread by searching for "LAC_1150" ...

She finally answered one of these calls, and it is one of those generic lower your credit card interest rate spammers.

Some closure ...

My wife quit receiving these calls before I could get Calls Blacklist installed. That must be one powerful app -- it works without even being installed!

interesting bit of News from the Feds yesterday.
they are now going to wage an all out war on spammers and RoboCalls, legislation is being drafted to make it a felony to do so.

once that is done, the only marketing calls you "should receive" will be from someone that you have given permission to call you

the Team being enlisted to assist in this, is not a Team you would think of first...
but, they swing a big hammer.
