Is there any apps that I can install on my phone to control my pc? I have the gmote one now that will let me connect to my computer and play a movie, but are there any apps that will give you full function of using your computer from your phone?

Phone my pc rocks......Can't remote login yet if you have to log in but they're working on a patch for that. Best one I've found for remote pc access

I have begged the author of Salling Clicker, which IMO is the best remote-control app out there, to release an Android version, even if it has to be TCP/IP only (no Bluetooth support). So far, no luck. You can try posting to his website, e.g. on this thread:

Also see my half-baked ideas for a workaround, if we had a good MIDP emulator on Android:

Jonas Salling's resistance to Android support is largely based upon the poor Bluetooth support in Android. I'm not 100% clear as to whether Bluetooth OBEX is supported in Android 2.1. I'm also not sure if this is the functionality that Salling Clicker requires.

I personally use LogMeIn for all of my computers + family computers. They are currently in Beta for LogMeIn Ignition for Android.

Haven't used it yet, but will be doing so soon.

any way to do the reverse, so that if i want to, i can type text messages through my computer onto the phone?

Just an update...

I've officially tried using the LogMeIn Beta app and was able to fully control my computers in my list of computers. The screen is a bit small, but in case of an emergency, you have the control you need.

I wouldn't do it all the time, but if there was something I needed from a home computer and had to have it right that second, I'd use it.

Yes, you can use apps like R-HUB remote support servers, Logmein, Gotomypc, Teamviewer etc. which you can install on your phone to control your computers remotely and vice versa. They are easy to use and work on all platforms.
