App to help learn new words

[buzzcolorado]

Hello All,

I am looking for an app that will help me learn new words that I encounter while reading books. Ideally I would just enter the word and the app would look up the definition. Then it would quiz me. Thanks !

What app do you use to read books with? The kindle app I use has this feature in it.

Which app is that ? I use a Kindle Paperlight. But sometimes also read paper books or run into new words in other places.

I know that all Kindle apps and devices have an integrated dictionary. Are you saying that the app you're using has the capability to store words that you need to learn, and that the app will test you on them ? I couldn't find that in the Android App.

It will look up the definition but will not quiz you on it.

I'll have to write this app then...

Flashcard Machine is both an app and a website. It's really good.
