App to manage special events?

I'm a college student, and there's daily specials at bars, salsa dance nights, special meetings, lectures, etc.

And all these things happen around me...
I don't want to just put them into my calendar and have them flooding it, but I would like some app to hold such things.

Anyone know what I can use that isn't my default so I can retain my personal schedule and, if I want to do extra, can see this app's contents? Thanks
 
You would be ok with maintaining 2 calendars? That would seem like a lot of work. Wouldn't it be hard to compare your free time with a special event that overlapped?

If you want to make sure your phone doesn't sound an alert for every special event you have in your Google Calendar, you can remove alerts AND you can set the event to "free" (or not busy) so that people who are invited to your calendar don't get false positives.

If you don't want to do the above, you want to look for a calendar that doesn't sync to your phone, so that you can keep them separate.
