ive had my desire for just over a year now and am getting constant low disk warnings when the memoryis getting to about 12 meg. if i root and put all apps on sd like handcent, will they still function properly?

Yes. The a2sd that comes with rooting fools the phone into thinking the app is in internal memory. Even Widgets work properly.

thanks for info. ive read about a hack to install apps on sd via usb debugging. do u know if that works as well?

It does work if you follow my guide but its not a great solution.

Also worth reading the root memory faq (both in my signature) if that was the route you were going down.

I did this, but it stops things like keyboard and widget apps from working, they need to be moved back to the phone. Apps2SD Pro app works well doing the same thing. Notifies you when things can be moved.

Even with this mod, i'm still now on low space and removed as many apps as i can. Hardly got anything on the phone and the new Flash update wont install. This has prompted me to finally make the move to rooting. After like 1.5 years.
