Apps App Translations

Currently, all my apps are available in English only. What are some options to have it translated or what are other devs doing with their apps?

I could probably use google translate for a lot of one to two word strings but I have some FAQ's that I know don't translate well through google. I see that there are translation services out there but I feel they are a little price.

Translation services are your best bet. Simply provide them with your strings.xml file and they will provide translated versions back.

You can also ask users to donate translations. My ICE app is currently available in 11 languages, with more to come soon -- all donated by users who simply wanted to see the app in their own language.

Similarly, users provided 7 translations for my Executive Assistant app.

GetLocallization provides an easy way for users to do the translation. This site offers paid translations, but you can also create free, crowd sourced projects.

Good luck!
Steve
