Help App Tries To Access Internet Through Data - I Don't Have A Data Plan

This has been plaguing me since Day 1 with my Ace 2 phone. I have a basic plan through Fido. Every day, I get a text error message from Fido saying, "You or an application have attempted to access the internet through data.....blah blah....for internet access...." and they provide a link. I don't have a data plan, and everything on my phone syncs or updates through wi-fi automatically. None of them try to use the internet through data. Facebook, YouTube and a whole slew of Google apps all sync or update without trying to access through data. Why would this application (whatever it is) be different?

Anyway, it's frickin' annoying to get this error EVERY SINGLE DAY. Fido are of no help, as they claim it's normal.

Here is a paste from the email they replied:

"For example, apps such as weather, e-mail, Facebook or even games will use data in order to update the information they provide you with. Because updates are done automatically and usually on a regular basis, your phone often needs to connect to the internet. Because this is not a feature included in your plan, we send a warning in order to avoid you from being charged the data pay-per-use rate."

It sounds like a crock to me, but what can I do? Any ideas? Anybody else have a similar problem?

Thank you so much for your reply! I did that, and hopefully this will fix that issue. I wonder why they never suggested that....maybe to try and get me to purchase a data plan? :)

Thanks again for the quick reply....cheers!
