App turning off wifi automatically

Many times, when I go out of home, office, or some other places, my wifi is still turned on even if it is not connected. It consumes battery too much.
So, I search google and found this app. It solved my problem.

This application can automatically turn off wifi after disconnected and help me saving battery!!.

-background service for checking wifi status and automatically turning off wifi.

-can work immediately after device booted.

-button for start/stop this app.

-can choose current network or preferred networks for checking out of range condition.


It's a small application but does the job perfectly. So, I suggested it.

OP -

the app i posted above uses the cell tower info to determine if you are home so there is no extra battery usage.

how does the app you posted know if your "preferred" wifi networks are in range without constantly polling for them and thus burning up the battery and thus defeating the purpose?
