I thought the new 2.1 market would notify you when an App had an update? I see an option that says Notifications in the market. Its checked on to "Notify me when items are updated". I just went to see my downloads and I have two apps that have updates.
you'll see a little icon in the task bar that looks like a shopping bag. That is a new update available. You will know it when you get it, especially since you haven't seen it before.
Weird. Ever since i updated to 2.1 last week, I haven't checked ONCE for any updated apps because I enabled notifications to tell inform me of the updates. So then I check my downloads today and - there we go - another inconsistent glitch - I had 6 of my apps to update. Herrmmmmm....... !!
Actually though, while the capability is there, I think that it is up to the developer to utilize the feature and implement it properly. Since it's new, not all developers are likely to be utilizing it yet, especially the smaller guys.
So, this one might not be a Sprint/HTC issue. Maybe.
Open up your market and click on your Downloads tab at the top of the market. Once your in that section, click on the menu. You'll have 4 things that you can select from. One being Notifications. Mine was already turned on after the upgrade. Still doesn't work either.
I want to agree with DSavage, with one app I have I did get the notice and it was only one. The developers have to take the first step and use it. But as one other person said, when you see the little reminder it will get your attention. Very nice feature and I think it will be used more as time goes on........
Have had it checked since my update to 2.1 but have never seen any notification. Doesn't really bother me since I go into the market once a day anyways.
