app widget to auto-rotation screen manually?

Just to clarify, you are asking if instead of the screen rotating based on how you hold it, you want to instead have a button you push to toggle the screen between portrait and landscape? If so, I haven't see any.

What I have is an HTC Desire Z. I have a widget that turns on or off auto-rotate. When I have it off, it is in portrait mode. If I open the keyboard, it switches to landscape mode. I close the keyboard to go back to portrait. I can do this since my phone has a physical slide out keyboard.

There are widgets that turn on on and off auto-rotate. A lot actually. I use widgetsoid right now, used to use some random toggle that I downloaded from the market. But, like the last guy said, none that will turn on landscape and make it stay that way.

I don't know if there is an app that can switch orientation of your device. You may need a hardware solution that can tilt your tablet at the push of a button.

From what I've seen, the OS actually prohibits being locked in landscape. It's either strictly portrait, or screen rotation.
