APP wont stop installing in Market - PLEASE help

Help, I'm new here.....I have the Samsung Fascinate and I had an app installed that was working fine. All of a sudden it just says installing and I can't do anything with it. I even uninstalled the offending app and it is still hung up on "installing" in the market...won't let me stop...won't let me cancel.....

...I cleared the cache of the market in the manage apps section and that did nothing.


Can someone help me PLEASE!

Have u tried to simply reboot? I know that;s a stupid question but try that first if u have not done so already dude :)

also use backup pro to help recover ur system dude :)

Also remove the battery from the device and wait about 30 seconds....then rboot buddy

Also, try clearing the Market data (it's found where the cache is)
 
It's found in the same screen as Market cache (settings, applications, manage applications, all, market, clear data)
 
On the fascinate this button isn't there. Only buttons are - clear cache, uninstall updates and force stop....I have hit all except uninstall updates...
 
Oooh. I'm not sure what to tell you then. Did you try the other steps found in the link posted above?

ya, nothing. What would happen if I uninstalled updates to the market?...would I be able to update it afterwords?
 
Updates to the market? I neither recall the market being updated, nor follow what you mean. Care to clarify?
 
There is a button where you can clear cache and force stop that lets you uninstall updates to the marketplace....
 
Apparently this is a button to replace clear data...I hit it and I had to log back into market place and it fixed the problem....

What version is your fascinate running? I wonder I'd what you're seeing is specific to Samsung...
 
Thank you all for the help! I've had 2 apps stuck 'installing' for days. Neither the verizon store nor the verizon customer service line could help and the last option they presented was to reset my phone to factory settings. Again, thanks for sharing this information!
