apple apps

Alright guys, I've had evo months now. I'm feeling down because the Android market just doesn't seem like it will catch up with the type of quality apps that Apple is coming out with. What am I to do? I miss my iPhone for that reason. When the new iPhone comes out in July I might consider going back?

Which apps are you looking for? I have yet to have an iPhone friend show me an app that didn't have an identical or very similar Android counterpart.

I take that back. CBS has a nice app for watching NCAA tournament games. I was able to stream them anyways, though, and the one week that I could have used it has passed, so I'm over it.

I have to agree with you, the quality just isn't here when it comes to the majority of apps on the market. Yes you can definitely find apps that are similar but the graphics aren't as good, they all have ads that ruin the experience (look at angry birds, at least apple has a version without ads), and a lot of the apps don't have the depth that similar apple apps do. I would rather pay $1-2 for an app that have ads come onto screen all the time.

They other night I was at a party and one of my friends (not a techy person) just got an iPad 2. She had family fued and wheel of fortune on it and we were all playing with it for hours. The graphics were great and they were very interactive. I am hoping that the Amazon market will bring some better apps since they have a screening process. I love Android, but the market is lacking and it doesn't seem to be catching up. We really need some quality developers to help out and not take us for a ride (like Rovio, who is taking all of us for a nice ride).

Also there are rumors that there will be no iPhone 5 this year.

what are you talking about.. all of the most recognized app are already in the android market and most of them are identical to the iphone versions.. some of them are even better due to the freedom that android offers

Your comparison of an Ipad to the phone for games is also lacking in why not compare my top of the line home computer to the Ipad and see how well it will run Crysis 2.

Ok I will compare the iPad 2 to the Xoom tablet. Please show me games such as wheel of fortune and family feud (I say these two because these are the only ones I saw) with the detail and graphics as the one on the iOS platform. It doesn't exsist.

Do we even have apps that can edit movies??

Actually Google unveiled an app for tablets called "Movie Studio" that can edit videos.

Dungeon Defenders now for Android

So what were you saying again?

Also Popcap games. We still don't have a single popcap games on the market.

Then how am I paying Bejeweled @ on my phone?

As for the OP: There's nothing on the appstore that doesn't have an equal or better app on the market. Not to mention the Amazon app store and the Opera store as well. I just sold my iPod Touch because I never use it anymore.

This notion that the market place is inferior is just not true anymore. However I will say this, I have yet to see anything on the appstore for iDevices that lets me use widgets, or customize the interface without resorting to jailbreaking.

oh the apple app store does have good stuff. Like Photobooth Oh wait...it's now for Android on Amazon.

99.9% of ios apps are not made by Apple and can be ported to Android if we work on it. Apple depends on other people's content because the OS itself is nothing special.

That I really want to know. I also knew Peggle came preinstalled with some version of X10 mini pro, but I just can't find it anywhere on the market even with market enabler. There's a Bejeweled 2 by EA, but isn't that a different game?

Edit: Nvm, just read that EA launched the game on android for Popcap. That would explain why it's named under EA rather than PopCap. Still.....

WHERE IS MY PLANTS VS ZOMBIES POPCAP?

Examples or you're a troll.

Astromist by Cyrille Theulliet. He has it for Palm (I have that) WinCE, and Iphone. Android doesn't have a program to touch it. And don't say Google Sky. Astromist can control a goto scope, your camera, show you pictures of the objects you are looking for, the times of Jupiter's red spot and moons, Saturn's moons.
Also a decent moon map, where you can touch a crater, and get info on it.

I was wondering why so many Apps come out for the Iphone/Ipad 1st. My example is that Time Warner Cable now has an app that will allow you to watch live TV anywhere in your home on your IPAD.... I would really like this, but I was leaning toward an Android tablet.... Does any of this have to do with the fact that there are only a handfull of Apple devices, and hundreds or thousands of Android devices? Or does that really matter?

When I was pretty much forced to lose my iPhone and go with Android, I had the same thoughts as the OP. I thought that the iPhone had all of the great apps, and the Android Market only really had the basic ones (I made the switch 7 months ago). I was SOOO wrong! All of the apps I used on my iPhone, were available for Android - along with MANY more useful apps that I never discovered\saw on the iPhone! (I don't have any specific examples - just some of the apps I had on the iPhone, were available for Android with even more features. Also, the openness of the Android platform opened the door for an obviously large group of apps).

Today, there is only ONE app that I wish was on Android (the developer has said it's coming to Android, for quite some time). Cut The Rope.
I also wish that Gameloft games were easier to get on Android. I HATE their online store, but I LOVE all of their games! I was obsessed with Hero of Sparta and Assassin's Creed on the iPhone, but they are such a pain to get on Android (They ARE available - just not through the Market).

Because the iPhone and iPad is a much larger\easier market to reach. Android will pass it soon enough.

Seriously? If you think for a second the games in Android can compete with Apple, you're delusional. My friend comes over with his stupid ipod with a dollar game a day that blows everything on my phone away. I still open the market and search just for grins.

Call me a troll, you're a fanboi if you need examples.

I find it odd that you can't give any examples...
I am googling around, trying to find a blog\site that lists some top\good iPhone games, that aren't available on Android, but all I find is the exact opposite: "10 Games on Android, that aren't available on iOS" - and all I see are posts about major iPhone game developers, releasing their games on Android. (OpenFeint, and Gameloft - the two biggest ones)
