No double standard. HE'S IN THE MEDIA WITH HIS ARROGANCE. He has shown no type of remorse or apathy to the thousands of customers that are experiencing problems with their phones. Instead he spent millions on smear campaigns against other phone makers and bumpers that people don't want.
Its the fact that this design is his baby and he thought that he was being a revolutionist, he doesn't want to admit a problem. This is making him look like an ass when we all know there is a clear cut problem with a very expensive phone that can't do the main function of what a phone does, make and hold phone calls.
But is his behavior truly different than
all the other CEO's on planet earth out there? We can't honestly say "yes", because Steve Jobs is doing what most of the CEO's on planet earth would do, which is to vehemently defend the company and the product to meet the #1 goal of the company: Push Profits (which Apple does very very well)
And please don't confuse what I'm saying here as defending him, because I personally think he's a repugnant human being. It's fair to criticize him for being arrogant, pompous, his revolting personality, ect ect, but it's not fair to criticize him for acting like a businessman and a CEO, because they ALL do that.
1st it was AT&T's fault, now its an every phone loses signal issue, so his advice.... "Dont hold it like that" As a consumer, don't you want the phone to cater to your needs? Not the other way around. Don't you think thats its a little odd that they are pushing back the release date of the white iphone if there is nothing wrong with the design of this phone? Again, he is a delusional narcissist because he fails to even acknowledge the major fault in his "dream that came to fruition." Its ironic that one of his main selling points just so happens to be its Achilies heel.
Yes it's odd that Apple is pushing back the release of the phone, perhaps it's tied to the free case program? Perhaps it's tied to the fact that white is a difficult color to cast in the fashion they're attempting to do? Who knows? All we can do is speculate.
Sure, it's we can
speculate that Apple will redesign the phone, but likewise I can
speculate that Apple would
never redesign the phone because:
1. That would essentially be admiting that there WAS a problem with it.
2. Apple would face an unimaginable media and PR shitstorm.
3. Apple would piss of
millions of customers.
To much to lose, the best course for Apple is to stay the course and continue to deny any problems with the Iphone 4.
You may not have a problem with your phone but I can tell you, all my friends that have the I4 hate it for the same problem that Steve Jobs says doesn't exist. I've seen it first hand and experienced it for myself. My best friend took his back twice with the second occasion being a final return. So nobody can say to me that this is a random occurence.
I don't know if its a random occurrence, perhaps certain stores were given faulty batches of phones, so when people return it they received another fault phone in exchange. Who knows?
I can only speak for myself and what I've seen first hand, which is all my co workers and friends with the phone have zero problems with it.
