Apple iPhone 4 Tracking vs Android Tracking

From everything I read, basically Apple tracks everything and stores it on your phone and that information is passed to your computer as well. You lose your phone and there goes all of your "secrecy." But their information isn't 100% accurate in regard to your location due to triangulation. However, Android location information isn't stored on your phone and its anonymous when it goes to Google I guess. The small bit of location information stored on Android is replaced by new location information for your position constantly. My questions is who did the tracking the smarter way..Apple or Android?

The tracking information in either case isn't meant to give you a truly accurate pinpointed location. It is more for advertising/marketing, AFAIK. This said, I am not sure I can really judge which company "did it better". So long as you are getting relevant ads for items in your area, I think each does it's job well enough.

Also, AFAIK, our (Android) phones aren't actually sending true GPS (pinpointed) data either.
