Downgrade? How so? It has the fastest mobile GPU in a phone once again, it has a top of the line camera, ultra thin and sleek, 8 hours mobile browsing on LTE which btw is amazing, and a amazing ecosystem. Plus what do you think is outdated in the phone? I need to hear this... me thinks someone is jealous. Plus thats NEXT YEAR, i gursntee you the iphone 6 will have those specs

why would i be jealous of a brand new phone that has the specs and capabilities of phones that came out a year ago or more?

apple is late to the party and all the bear is gone and the girls have gone home.

but again, the iphone 5 will sell well. it will sell because its the new iphone, because its a sexy looking phone, because iphone is a fashion statement, but it wont sell because its a technologically superior or even competitive product.

Wow thats pretty impressive then how a GPU that "came out a year ago" beats the snapdragon s4 GPU which came out only a few months ago . Its also impressive how a phone that "came out last year " is thinner then this years top of the line smartphones

Alright this is such a ridicolous statement? Apple cant compete with other smart phones? Iphone is still the number 1 sold smartphone and it will continue to smash sales records. Plus im curious to hear why you think it doesnt bring the phone up to par with the S3? I might sounds like a apple fanboy but i am actually just very interested in smartphones and technology itself. I think the iphone 5 brings its self right up to the S3 if not just a little bit more then the S3, but i dont care because the S3 it self is lightning fast and the pebble blue version that i have is beautiful imo

Compare feature to feature and it can't carry the S3's power supply! Get real because if you really believe the i5 is above the S3 then you haven't done the research you let on you have. Less memory, smaller screen, same camera, no NFC, (not sure about processor speed because apple seems to be afraid to publish that fact), customizable, Samsung allows us to root our devices, FM Radio and time will tell about the battery life. 8 hours on LTE, I really doubt that one! I am sure I have left a lot of other features on the table but I am sure they will come out in other posts. BTW, my S2 has most of the features i5 delivered today...

I know that I will probably get flamed for even saying this lol but here we go. I think that the galaxy s3 is an amazing phone and something that is one of the best phones out. But the iPhone will be bought for more reasons of because it is a fashion statement I think that in the end people will buy it because they prefer it and yes I know posting this on this forum is just stupid since it is an android forum. But when it comes down to it in the end people are loyal to Apple for because they have blinders on but because they just like the operating system better. Also it is kind of funny how everyone is bashing the iPhone5 but I'm sure everyone was eagerly looking at info about the phone and waiting for the press release........just saying

I have an S3 Verizon and it is hands down the best phone I've ever had. I have owned iphone 3gs and 4 and currently have a 4S and would still like to get the 5. But was hoping with it having the 4g lte, the sim would be the same as my S3's and I could swap back and forth on same verizon line. Guess it's not going to be possible though, S3's being micro, iphone 5's nano?

I agree totally. Loyalty is a huge tool to have in your closet and apple has done well there. I just have a hard time when loyalty makes people compare the number 6 to the number 8 and try and convince everyone 6 is a higher number because they truely believe it is!

Apple is such a pointless company. It is clear that they can not come up with ideas of their own, as seen in multiple pictures of them clearly ripping off other ideas.

And yet they blame other phone manufacturers of stealing their ideas when they are stealing ideas from android itself(swipe down notifications) and then they claim that their panoramic picture thing is revolutionary, uh hello?? I could do that way before iOS6 was even a thought.

Yes definitely and you will get those people and they are called idiots lol but I still think that the iPhone5 looks like a nice phone hands down that will do good in sales.

Ok but I still think that Apple put out a product that is still an upgrade from their last one and will attract people. Like I said in my other post there are certain things about Apple that people like and I can say as a S3 owner there are something about my 4s that I miss. Now is that enough for me to go back no it isn't. But I think the Apple has done a good job marketing all their new phones because hands down if the iPhone5 isn't up to the performance of the S3 then its pretty funny how it might outsell it.

Like I said earlier, as much as I like my S3 and am a loyal android enthusiast, even I can concede that the iPhone 5 is superior to the S3 is several ways. Better build for sure and it's not even close. Better camera too.

And I think that saying the iPhone 5 has dated tech is a really terrible basis to trash the phone. Who cares as long as it works well. If the iPhone 5 can playback a 1080p video without a hiccup just like the S3, what does it matter if it has dual core or one core, 1 gig of ram or two. When I had the rezound, it was 1.5g dual core and underperformed the 1.2g GNex.

I like my S3 more than the iPhone not because it has better tech, but because it can play MKV and AVI files. I like it more because I like having live wallpaper and widgets. I like having superuser access. That's software. To me, the difference between Apple and Android has ALWAYS been about software. In this world of dual cores, 8 megapixels, rams in gigs/not megs, and 300+ ppi, most phones are fast enough. Heck, even the $99 Droid Razr M dropping tomorrow has the same 1.5g dual core S4 chip that the S3 does.

So really, from a hardware standpoint, it's the finer touches that I care about. Things like attention to build detail, using sapphire crystal to protect the camera lens, etc. Like it or not, Apple pays attention to these finer details. Certainly more than Samsung. That's why I'm seriously considering switching to the Razr HD from the S3 when that phone launches later this year. At least Moto seems to understand that build quality and attention to detail are not thing only Apple lovers care about.

It's only the number one selling phone because they only have one model.

little bit outdated but the numbers should be correct.

In terms of specs, sure the i5 could be at the same level as the SGS3 but there are really no new features.
The thing is hardware specs from i4S to i5 is the same as the SGS2 to SGS3 but you can not say the same thing about the software.

To be fair, Apple has serious omissions like no NFC, no big battery too. I'd rather take 1mm thicker phone with big enough battery that can last more than 10hrs of talk time. Though I agree on Motorola in general, they don't seem to care too much on camera features/performance.

i would concede better camera quality and screen quality and these have always been the case with iphones. iphone is still ahead in these areas, at least for now.

other than that the i5 is beat.

this phone was supposed to blow everything out of the water and instead barely keeps its head above it.

Actually the S3 is currently the #1 sold phone in the U.S. sir.


Edit: Forgot to add something else. Transition to 4' from 3.5' is okay since they were playing catch up in that category.

Build quality against the S3.. I like both imo. I prefer a larger screen though .

Panorama.. Nothing really new at all. Which is weird because dont they have apps for that in their app store? pretty sure they do.

All the new features are pretty old compared to Android but in the hands of someone that likes/loves apple then it is new to them.

People that truly like apple will buy it out of loyalty and because they pay attention to the specs. While most people that domt really care about the specs will just buy it because of the statment it makes. Regardless of the new features/specs it will still sell.
