Application install directory

[rdwray]

I have searched and searched for the location of the install directory for installed applications on T-Mobile Concord Android and have not found it. I have found all the system apps but no 3rd party.

I have looked under:
/system/app/*
/system/bin/*
/system/usr/*

thanks...

Try /data/app - but I don't remember whether you can read it on an unrooted device.

i don't think you can SEE it without root--unless you download root explorer--but you will only see them, you cannot edit or remove anything in there.

I have 2 root explorers with search and I am still up a tree...

Doesn't matter if you have root explorer if you aren't rooted. Are you rooted?

I am not a linux person - what do you mean by "rooted"? I can see all the "/" directories and sub-directories:

acct
cache
sys
system
etc...

Rooted means that you have hacked the device so that you can gain root (administrator) access. This gives you more flexibility, but the warranty on a rooted device is void.

Without that a root explorer still can't do certain things because it doesn't have the permissions.

ok, then why can is find all the installed vendor files, but none that I have installed?
