Apps application size

Hi,
I want to reduce the size which any application takes. By default, it takes full screen. I want to reduce it. Kindly help.

Hey thanks for the reply but i think u misunderstood it.
I want to see the sliding drawer button always , so for that i have to reduce the size of default application. By default i mean "contacts , messaging, gallery etc .I have to change something in the android code.
So that my phone ll look like windows having start button always.
By this if I am inside any application and if I click on start button I can launch any other application instead of going back.
